Tour de France! - group email

This has been a great week!

Lately we have done a TON of biking. Mainly because Elder Roy and I both like to get outside and ride bikes and also because it's super effective for talking to lots of people and getting from place to place. It reminds me of Joseph Smith in the Doctrine and Covenants section 61:3 where he says

"But verily I say unto you, that it is not needful for this whole company of mine elders to be moving swiftly upon the waters, whilst the inhabitants on either side are perishing in unbelief."

So biking gives us a great opportunity to slow down and listen to the spirit to talk to the people the Lord has prepared for us. We also have been put in a car share. So we'll have the car for a week at a time now. Which means more biking, so that'll make Ponte Vedra trips alot more interesting haha. Funny story, we were biking home at night and we are almost home. Elder Roy is in front of me and he's cruising. And I'm just taking my time enjoying the night time air and all the sudden I just hear a scream! I look up and as Elder Roy was coming around a corner two guys were also on bikes and they almost collided!

The two guys were under the influence of alcohol but Elder Roy slammed on the brakes and just went flying over the handle bars! He looked like super man flying through the air 😂 I was laughing because he said his legs were to short and he couldn't touch the ground so he just went soaring! Also we were biking one day and without realizing it I apparently ran over a snake 🤷‍♂️ I heard it after I ran over it but I never saw it haha. Glad it didn't try to strike at my leg.

OK enough about bikes. I got to meet my new district Members! They are both greenies and they are awesome. Elder Kindley is from northern California, and Sister Gillins is from Bountiful Utah. So we are gonna have tons of fun! There's two sisters from Arizona that just came out and I'll see one of them (Sister Kennedy) at Zone Conference so that'll be exciting! I already love the District! My first district meeting as the district leader is tomorrow so pray for me!

We got a new bishopric today. Sad to see such powerful man who made a huge impact to the ward get released, however definitely really excited for the change and the new bishopric. One thing I love about the new bishop is that he is a commander in the Navy so things are gonna get done. 😂 Excited to work real close with him. It was amazing we had multiple investigators at church today and all of them said they really enjoyed the meeting and the spirit that they felt! Very excited.

Well I love you all and I hope you have an amazing week! Just remember theres always some one who can be there for you 😊 I love being a missionary!
