El Don de Lenguas
Okay I found out about an interesting event that will happen while I am in El Salvador. So to give you all some context, in our area is a stadium called estadio cuscatlan, which is a soccer stadium. We live about 15 minutes from it by walking, so it is fairly close. The event that I found out will happen while i am here in this lovely country, is a soccer match in September. Now I'm sure you all are thinking, hey dude it's just a soccer game. But the thing is, its El Salvador playing the United States to see who will get into the world cup!! Bro I can't even support the greatest country in the world, so I'll just have to dream of the game in my sleep. (Or just sneak out with my companion.... (just kidding)). So the reason that this week's title is El Don de Lenguas, is because in English it means the gift of tongues, and I had a cool experience this week with this amazing gift!!! We were visiting with some members, and we gave a lesson about the Book of Mormón being our latter day survival guide. Well i was pretty much able to understand almost everything that they said, and even though I couldn't speak too well, it went pretty decent. After the lesson, they asked how long I had been in El Salvadaor for, and I told them I had been here for a month and a half. They all were really surprised, and told me that usually when the gringo missionaries come to their house, and when they have a month and a half those missionaries can't speak that well. How I spoke sounded like a gringo that had been here for 3 months! It was a small cool experience, but it served as a testimony to me how the gift of tongues is real and how I am learning faster than i would be able to without it. #power. From God though, not me hahaha.
So we had a cool experience this week with a lesson or two that we were able to do. We have these two investigators that are super cool! I told you all about miguelito last week, and this week we had a lesson with him where we set a baptismal date for the 14th of August!! We are super hyped for him. But he had brought his sister that week to the lesson, and we talked a little about the commandments with them and set a date for miguelito. But while my comp was looking up a video for them to watch about baptism, I felt.impressed from the spirit to invite his sister to be baptized as well, and she said yes!! It was super awesome. Her baptism is for the 28th of August, but we haven't taught her too much so pray for her!!
Word in Spanish this week is me cheating a little bit, because it's not a real word in Spanish haha. The sister in my district that taught me the word said it was a word they made up to be my favorite word of the week. The word is momosaurio. Definition? Ghost dinosaur.
