Sarmiento Chubut Argentina

Elder Bunker

What a week!!

So much happened this week good and bad mostly good but some bad! So i will just run through the week.

We rode the bus back to Sarmiento. We have to go to Comodoro for every Pday and District meeting Tuesday morning. So we got back and just went contacting. We found a couple people but talk to 20ish people. We only found one girl named Mikaela that told us to come back. She is the perfect fit for what missionaries call Snakes. A snake is a girl who does everything she can to flirt with missionaries. She comes walking out the door in a belly shirt and ,may as well have been no pants, but shorts. My comp and I made eye contact and both had the look in our eye that said, "this could be interesting." Anyway nobody else was home so we set up an appointment for Wednesday. That night we were walking back to our Pension(apartment), and our dueño(landlord) was in her kitchen. We walk past her window every day to get to and from our pension so we always just wave and keep walking. A few minutes later there is knock on our door. Our dueño is standing there with a bowl full of Asado!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All natural fire grilled beef! It was so good especially considering the fact that our dinner was going to be yogurt and oatmeal.
BTW Austin, I dont know the food situation in Peru but here, Yogurismo is the cheapest and healiest option for food. It is basically Danimals!

All we got out of Wednesday was 25 contacts, lunch with a member, and a lesson with Mikaela. The lunch was great we got empanadas and dulce de leche pudding! Luckily Mikaela was wearing clothing so the lesson went great. We invited her to be baptised and she accepted. Unfortunately that date fell cause she didnt come to church yesterday.

We got 20 more contacts and walked 18 miles around Sarmiento. That is all we got because Sarmiento is a small town and if one investigator isnt home then probably the rest arent home.

We had to go to Comodoro for interviews with President. We got there at 9 am and our interviews were at 3 so we played ping pong for hours!! It was pretty fun but overall not a productive day. Good news though we might have talked President Salerno into bikes for our area so PRAY!!!

Not much happened again we got 20 more contacts and talked to one less active member. While talking with that less active we did get a rock thrown at us so that was entertaining. We were standing at this guys door when all of the sudden a rock flys between my comp and I and nails the house. It put a pretty good dent in the wall too! It was probably a little bigger than a golf ball so that was fun! That area is called Bario Progresso, we arent even alowed to be within half a mile of that place after 6 pm because it is the Ghetto part of town. Which is saying something for the town we live in!

We went to church and we taught a lesson. It went way good! We taught from the BoM But we were worried cause the topic was 3 Nephi 22 and 23. Look that up and try to make a lesson that takes an hour and a half when there are only 4 other people in the church that day! God works miracles!!

I love being out here and love getting to serve. It is the best decision I have evr made! I still cant believe I am in Argentina but it kinda sunk in when they cut all the water to lower half of Argentina for 3 days. We heard about it before so we filled up a 5 gallon bucket with water and had to sponge bath for 3 days!! That was a different experience for sure!

Thank you all for everything and I hope all is going well! I love you all and you are in my prayers every day!
