The Start of Something New

Hola mi familia y mis amigos! This week has been Awesome and a new spiritual experience for me! This week was the beginning of my 3rd transfer in the mission and my 2nd in the mission field. I got some exciting crazy things going on here and I accidentally got peed on by a little baby EWWWWW! Our house was without power for 4 days this week and our maintenance guy came in and fixed it to where if we have no power we have a backup inversor and NOW after 1 problem was fixed another appeared! Our water is out and now we have no water and its weird showering with buckets in this country but you gotta do what you gotta do lol. Our house is looking way better than it did last transfer and its all thanks to my new comp and Elder Cruz and I because we have spent all day today and tuesday this week just cleaning the house and helping us to be able to feel the spirit of the Lord easier! Mosquitoes are not of God let me tell ya, They have been feasting on me for the past week and they don't stop! My new companion is Elder Stout and he is from Utah! He is a very hard worker and doesn't like to waste time and that is exactly what im here to do, WORK! He is awesome and has taught me so much more than I would ever think i could learn from another missionary. He is always hyped to do the work and he makes sure that we always teach with the spirit no matter what. This week my mind has just clicked and I can understand and speak the language more and even have a full on conversation with the Dominicans! I've seen the Lord's Blessings and I've seen how He has influenced the hearts of our converts and our investigators. In 2nd Nephi 4 verse 19 its says I KNOW IN WHOM I HAVE TRUSTED¨This single scripture has kept me going since the first day and it will keep me going! I have been learning the spanish language for about 13 weeks aka 3 months now and I cannot belive how far I have progressed and it is all through Faith in the Lord and his help. Elder Stout and I have started to teach families and people who are just more interested in the gospel of Jesus Christ and I know for myself the importance of family and it is definitely the thing I cherish most in my life! without them I could never have had the things, chances, or opportunities to serve my fellow man and serve our God. I know with my families help that I can do all things because I know that the Lord blesses me and my family for the work being done here and at home! The blessings that come from family prayer and study are HUGE and they are the biggest impact on our testimonies and thought every day, week, month, year, decade, century, and so forth.
Doctorine and covenants 31 2 I will bless you and your family, yea, your little onesñ and the day cometh that they will believe and know the truth and be one with you in my church. 3 Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of you MISSION is comeñ and your tonguw shall be loosed and you shall declare glad tidings of great joy unto this generation. 5 Therefore, thrust in your sickle with all your soul, and you sins are forgiven you, and you shall be laden with sheaves upon your back, for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Wherefore, YOUR FAMILY SHALL LIVE. 6 Behold, verily I say unto you, go from them only for a little while and declare my word, and I will prepare a place for them! Family and friends I know that this gospel is the true gospel of Jesus Christ and that I am here only for Ä little While¨to declare is word and that I and my family and all the families of missionaries around the world are recieving blessings and feeling Joy deep within their souls. I know in whom I have trusted and that He will guide me to where I need to be and put words into my mouth. I know as we keep striving to bring forth the word of the Lord and continually strive to keep the commandments of the Lord we will be blessed so much that we will have no room to receive it! Doctrine and Covenants 34 verse 5 And more blessed are you because you are called of me to preach my gospel. I know that I have been called to serve here and that the Lord has prepared a way for me to do the work and to learn. NEVER FORGET IN WHOM YOU GUYS HAVE TRUSTED! Never put your trust in the arm of flesh and never ever forget that God loves you more than anything. Remember that you are Loved and that you have the ability to do all things! Always always always remember I LOVE YOU!
Te amo mucho -Elder Martinez
