The Great Texodus

Area
Flower Mound 3rd Ward
Companion
Elder Jacob Parsons
The Great Texodus
We don't have many update for you this week on investigators, we only
saw a couple of them as the rest are caught up in the great "Texodus."
This next week hopefully will be better. School is going to start here
soon so I thing families will be returning to get ready.
It seems like every week I have an increasing amount of super
spiritual moments where I get a glimpse of what it is like to have a
true eternal perspective or being fully commited to the Lord. These
experiences are very faith building and motivate me to try to follow
the Savior more so that I might continue to have those and ultimately
have my entire life feel that way all the time. One day I was sitting
waiting for Elder Parsons to finish getting ready so we could go out
for the day and I just had an amazing feeling, not quite the way I
remember the temple feeling but it was pretty powerful. I thought to
myself, "how can people not realize that this gospel is true? If
people heard what they are being told, that there is a prophet of God
on this earth with the power of God, would that not make so much sense
that they would long to join right then and there or at least
investigate it more?" I found myself ordering that question and I
realized that I could say, like the apostles of old, "to whom shall we
go? thou hast the words of eternal life." I know that this gospel is
true, I don't know everything, not even close. But the spirit of God
has testified to me that this work is true. I feel like I know in the
way that Alma explained it - "a perfect knowledge." Nothing else could
make sense to me.
Anyways, that is that. This area is starting to grow even more. We are
starting to get thing moving. Last night we met with our Ward Mission
Leader and came up with an idea to run coordination meetings similar
to district meetings. This way, the meetings can have doctrinal and
principle instruction so the Ward missionaries can start to understand
Preach My Gospel. As they do, they will know their purpose more and
hopefully that will help start the members getting fired up. A big
problem in this Ward is the home teaching. The reports are saddening.
For the whole year the elders only have about 38% or so for the last
13 months. If the members aren't doing their home teaching, they
aren't going to do missionary work. The leaders are not sure what to
do to get the amount of home teaching to improve. They need help.
Well, that is about it for today! Sorry it's a little short haha.
Keep the Faith and Hurrah for Israel!
Love, your missionary son and brother, Elder Jefferies
