Area

Flower Mound 3rd Ward

Companion

Elder Jacob Parsons

#Transfers

Transfers are this week and I am staying! I am excited and I am ready

to see the ball rolling in this area a lot more than it has been. I

will spend at least 6 months in this are when it is all said and done

and will hopefully have seen a baptism! I'll get to that later. Elder

Parsons and I will still be companions. Yay! So exciting!!!

Our area is really picking up! It was a great week and we have a great

week planned this week. We have a baptismal date set up and a few more

may be coming! Exciting things are happening in this ward. I am glad

that I am staying,  we both get to move the work forward in this area.

I hope that it all goes well! I am starting to understand missionary

work on a deeper level.

Really there were only two exiting things that happened this past week

the first one is below. We did a lemonade stand! It was a hot 2 hours!

We gave away 5 cups of lemonade and 3 copies of the Book of Mormon!

That was pretty great! I wish that we would have had more cups given

away cause I mean seriously, it is FREE lemonade! Oh well, we gave

them copies of the Book of Mormon so that is a plus!!!!

This week we had an amazing lesson with a young man who ended up going

to the Denton YSA. When we found out that he lived there, we honestly

retried to figure out a way to have him stay here so we could teach

this super solid young man. However, we decided to have faith in the

principle of stewardships and got a handoff lesson with the Denton YSA

elders. During the lesson, we got two text messages. One from a

less-active woman who I actually met on my first day here in Flower

Mound. She was wanting a copy of the Book of Mormon for a patient. We

found out her concern about the church and invited her to pray, read

the Book of Mormon and this last General Conference. The other text

was a member in a different Ward letting us know about someone who he

feels is prepared to be taught and receive the gospel. We were so

happy when we found out! We biked over to where this referral lived,

we knocked on the door and he let us in. After a couple minutes of

getting to know him, we taught him about the love of the Savior and

how he knows us personally. How God loves us and how we can become

better and overcome trial that are put in our path. We set a return

appointment and promptly left. He seems like he is so wiling and

ready. It was a testimony to me about doing the right thing.

I don't have a spiritual thought developed for today so, I will post

this scripture:

"And again, believe that ye must repent of your sins and forsake them,

and humble yourselves before God; and ask in sincerity of heart that

he would forgive you; and now, if you believe all these things see

that ye do them."

Keep the Faith and Hurrah for Israel!

Love, your missionary son, Elder Jefferies
