Another Week In Arlington
Hola!!!!
This week has been a blast, just like every other week haha. We got our iPads on Wednesday, set them up and now we're using them and they're amazing! We taught quite a few lessons and oh my goodness looks like I'll just need to tell y'all about it! Btw Hailey, I have ππππβΊοΈπππππππππ³πππππππ£π’πππͺπ₯π°π

Alright, first off, I am officially an orange juice addict. I buy 3.5 liters of orange juice a week and usually finish them off! I loooove Orange juice I'm not exactly sure why but it is a lot healthier than mtn. Dew or Gatorade if ha think about it. Come to think of it, Mtn. Dew is citrus based and I loved Mtn. Dew, not as much as orange juice but still!
I bought a leatherman because they are awesome and I need a multitool that will stay where I put it. Elder Price got an inner tube which is awesome because now we can actually ride our bikes haha.
Wednesday. The kid that showed up is now, officially, a new investigator! We taught him twice and he's been to church once ahh it's so amazing to see people's hearts open to the gospel. Elder Price and I are really seeing the fruits of our faith and hard work. I now know the meaning of the saying "It doesn't take much faith to move a mountain, but you had better show up at the bottom of that mountain with a shovel in hand!" Every person that has rejected us rudely or otherwise. All of the sweat, thirst, sore legs and tired nights are made worth it by one person. I have never felt this way about anything. I've felt drive, commitment, and fire doing other things but none of it matches this.
iPads! They make studying and planning way more productive but morning exercise not so productive. The gym in our complex, if you could call it a gym, has residual wifi from the main office so when we go to exercise we bring our iPads to download things into our gospel library and we typically end up watching the bible videos instead. The apps that we have make planning and record keeping so simple and it forces missionaries to fill out teaching records which will be such a benefit to future missionaries.
The downfall of iPads. There are sooo many resources to draw from its kinda overwhelming! We searched "repentance" and there were 2,000+ references to repentance.... ..... No way will we able to go through all of those in an hour of personal study. But, I realized that I downloaded every conference on here so I think I will just have the past five years and select ones after that that haha.
Friday, the best day that we had last week, except for Saturday. So, during our studies we got two referrals within like 30 seconds of each other. One for a Book of Mormon, which is amazing! That means that they already have a desire to learn about it! And the other one was for a bible, we were slightly less excited about that one because normally nothing ever comes from it, we go, they take the bible, and they say "Alright, thanks bye!" So, we tried contacting the Book of Mormon one first, that didn't really happen. Then we tried the bible one. We got there and we gave him the bible, as we shared a few things with him from it he invited us into his home. We taught him about the Book of Mormon, and how God loves us. We then committed him to read a few chapters out of the Book of Mormon and set an appointment for the next day. He kept those commitments when we met with him! He thinks the Book of Mormon is similar to the bible and doesn't see how anyone can talk bad about it. We taught him about repentance and other scattered doctrine so it's pretty great! We also committed him to read more chapters as well as come to church. Before we went to bed that night we got a text from him saying that those chapters were a lot like the bible... He read those before we went to bed!! Yesterday he came to church and met a man in elders quorum that he went to middle school with!! This is totally God's hand because this is crazy!!! We set an appointment for this Wednesday oh my goodness this is amazing!
Friday night we also had the baptism of a boy whose family just came out of reactivity and it was so cool to be a part of that even though I just witnessed. I love seeing lives changed for the better and for all eternity.
All in all, this past week has been amazing! I spent a lot of time in meetings, that's evident by looking at my closet as I only have one pair of dirty slacks haha... I need to get my suits dry cleaned tomorrow haha or at least one of them!
I love being a missionary. I come into the apartment every night dead tired and it feels great! There is nothing better than knowing that you spent all day inviting others to come unto Christ, studying about Christ and learning about Christ's life and teachings. He is my Redeemer, H is my Lord. I love Him. I can never repay Him for what He has done, but I know that I can serve Him and help others obtain their salvation. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on the earth today. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are both the word of God and that you can get closer to God by reading the Book of Mormon than by reading any other book in this world. I can promise you as a representative of the Lord Jesus Christ that if you read it, pray about it and ponder it in your hearts, you will know that what I have written is indeed the truth. Even if you have done it the past, I implore you to do it again. My life has already been changed for the better and I can only imagine what the next 22 months of witnessing miracles will do to my heart. I Love y'all, that may seem strange, but I sincerely do. Christ lives!
28 ΒΆCome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Matthew 11:28-30
He truly will make your burden light, whatever your burden may be.
Love, your missionary son and brother, Elder Jefferies
