Just another week slaving away. We had the baptism of Nancy. It was awesome. Ana and Jenny are progressing well and we are sure they will get baptized soon. We also found a family of four. Their daughter went to BYU and got baptized there so It would be cool to be able to help them here.
The family we found by cutting grass didn't work out as well as we expected. We got their and they had called a couple of priest to get the demons out of us. Haha all well. Sometimes that happens here.
Well now that I am in a nice and safe place I felt like I could share a story without anybody worrying. When I had about 7 months in the mission I got sent to Huaquillas. One night we were on a three story balcony. Below there was a party on a little street big enough to fit one small car at a time. The street was crowded with kids and you would have to push your way through there was so many people. As we are sitting on the roof teaching a lesson I saw a motorcycle with two guys on it pull up and stop. Before I even thought about it I had jumped down the stairs. On the way down I heard shots. I flung open the little garage door and threw some kids in the house. As i'm by the entrance I looked out to see if there was anyone left outside. I didn't see anyone wounded so I thought they were firing blanks and not real bullets. I stuck my head out with all the confidence in the world until I heard one wiz pass me and ricochet on something metal behind. Haha I wasn't so confident then. I counted 11 shots. They were firing at the police that just so happend to be in the middle of the crowd. After firing they took off and the police chased them. As we were looking around we realized that not even one person was injured. I think it would have been impossible to have missed even if you were trying. There was broken glass and everything. The Lord told me to never doubt him again.
I know that God cares for our temporal being but he cares even more for our eternal potential. I have learned not to doubt that and that God has a plan for everyone. I know that God protected those children and I know even more that God sent his son Jesus Christ to protect us and our infinite potential. As the holidays role in I invite all of you to look towards our savior and help someone in need.
