What's up!!!
I hope everyone is doing great, I am sorry that I haven't wrote a email in a while because I have been a bit busy. I am now in a new area in a town called Estelí, it's another branch but the members are great so I'm super excited to work here.
My last few weeks in Ocotal were great! Jose and Elvia got baptized and the service was great. They are 80 years old and they live 30 minutes walking from the church but they haven't missed a Sunday yet! We also had another baptism for Pedro and that was sick, he was one of the most ready people I've ever found and he got baptized the day of the District conference of District Estelí. The conference was 2 hours away from Ocotal so we needed to rent a bus, but they day before the conference the bus driver canceled on us. My comp and I began to stop almost all of the buses in Ocotal to try to find a bud driver to take us, but no one could. In the night we continued calling everyone we could and asking for references, but it seemed like it would be imposible without a permit from the police (that was only given 2 weeks in advance) and a driver. That night I learned a valuable lesson about faith and persistence, because just as I was about to give up we were able to find someone (at 10 PM the night before) who could take us. I've had a lot of experiences in my mission that have helped me to understand God's plan in everything and how to have faith in all times, and this one wasn't to differ.
It was really hard to say goodbye to Ocotal, I made so many good friends there and there was so many crazy experiences that I won't ever forget. It's been cool to see how much the branch grew and how it will continue to grow in these upcoming months, and I hope that it will soon be a ward! Estelí is a great area as well, it's 2 hours south of Ooctal so I am in the same Zone. I'm in a trio with Elder Dubón from Guatemala and Elder Stocel from Panamá. The branch is pretty big here and I'll be learning a 4th language because it's also a partial deaf branch! I'm learning a lot of sign language because almost half of the members are draft. It's so great and I'm excited to see how it will be!
