Good night!
Hope everyone is having a great day! Sorry I haven't been able to write lately, my phone broke and it took a while to get a new one. Everything is great here in Ocotal! We had some great bautisms of Ana, Hector, and Yamil! They are all relatives of the inactive families we are trying to reactivate (one of them is the old pensionista of the missionaries 7 years ago so it's pretty sweet to see them back active in church. For those of you who don't know, the church in Nicaragua was very strong until 2018 (civil unrest) and 2020 (covid), the church in these small branches were closed and many people weren't able to be opened until recently. I've been in small branches almost all of my mission, so it's been cool to help out in the growth of these areas and to see so many faithful saints.
This next Sunday we are super excited for the baptism of Elvia and Jose Bernardo! They are a couple we found as a reference from a member and they are super faithful. Last Sunday we came to their house at 7 AM to remind them to get ready for church and we found put that Elvia was sick. We gave them a blessing and promised them both blessings and health if they got to church. They are both 80 years old and the church is more than 30 min away, so I didn't think they would show up but I was super surprised and happy to find them there when we got there! She said the moment we gave her the blessing she immediately felt better and got ready to go. We've been teaching them these last few weeks and I'm so excited to see them take their next step.
Sorry for the short email, I'll write more next week!
