Buenas noches!
This week was great and went by super fast! It's definitely been a grind finding new people, teaching them, and helping them progress so they can make covenants with God but it's always super rewarding when we see the miracles that come from it! A lot of the people we have baptized over the last few months have continued to follow Jesus Christ and are becoming leaders in the branch. Carlos is the 2nd conselor in the branch, Henry will be called to be 2nd counselor in the Elders Quorum, Mainor will be the branch mission leader, Doris will be in the Primary Presidency, and Martina will be directing the hymns. It's been super cool to see how the branch has been growing and I hope that we will be able to see more miracles in my last month here in Puerto Cabezas.
One of the coolest parts about being here is being apart of the Miskito culture, which is very different from the rest of Nicaragua. The people on the Atlantic Coast rely on the ocean and are very laid back, friendly, kind, and humble. It rains a lot here in the rainy season as well, so the houses are built on stilts for the flooding and most of people either have slides, rubber boots, or are walking around barefoot because there is so much water. As missionaries we try to do our best to adapt ourselves as well, and we've seen how it's helped us to have more success. When we enter in a house, we take of our shoes/flip flops and teach the lessons the best we can in Miskito criss cross applesauce on the ground (if they don't have chairs) in a circle with all of the family in their wooden homes. I've been able to see how adapting to the culture has helped us gain a greater love for the people and have greater success in Bilwi and I know it will continue to have an affect on more people to come.

Scripture of the Week
I like this scripture in Isaiah 58:6-7 that talks about the power of fasting, it says "Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke? Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?" While we sacrifice a bit when we choose to fast (or go without food or water for a certain period of time to think more about Jesus Christ), there are so many blessings that we recieve as well as those we serve.
