Buenas noches,
Elder Mejía and I have had an amazing week this week. It's been so great to work so hard with him, he's an amazing companion and I have enjoyed my time and the miracles I've seen here in Lamlaya.
On Wednesday we had a crazy cool experience. While we were teaching our investigator named Bidal, a lady came up to us and asked us for help. She took us over to her house where we found Marlon (a recent convert who was baptized a few months ago) laying back in a hammock in pain. Within a few seconds I realized he was paralyzed, as he couldn't move his legs or feel anything below his waist. He told us that when we left to a community a bit outside of Puerto Cabezas he had been beaten up by three guys and then a witch had cast a spell on him. The family said that only by the power of God he could be saved, so my comp and I felt prompted to give him a priesthood blessing.
As I sealed the blessing, I felt prompted to bless him that for his faith in Christ that he would be healed little by little so that he could walk normal one day in the future. Each day after that he gained a little more strength, and by Sunday he was able to walk all the way to the church with the help of his crutches and his family. It's been amazing to see how real priesthood power is, and even though he still has a bit to go until he is fully healed I am so happy that I was able to see such a miracle.
We also had a great experience on Thursday and Friday. I was on splits with Elder Madsen in my area and while I was walking I felt impressed to contact this one guy on the street that we had passed. I put off the prompting 3 times, but after a bit I realized that we needed to turn back. We talked with the man (Manuel) and set a return appointment with him for the next morning. When we came back, we explained to Manuel a bit of our church and he immediately stopped us and asked us "how does your church baptize?" We explained to him that we baptize in the same way Christ was, and afterwards he was super happy. He told us that over the last few weeks he had been looking for a way to change his life and be baptized, but all the the churches he knew (Catholic, Moravian, Evangelio, etc) didn't baptize the same we Jesus was. He also said that he had been praying for someone to come to help him be baptized in the right way, and then we showed up. It was amazing, and ever since then Manuel has been one of the favorite people I have ever taught. He has continued to read the Book of Mormon and he even went to church last Sunday, and I'm super excited to see him change and better his life.

Spiritual Thought
Alma 36:27, "And I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions; yea, God has delivered me from prison, and from bonds, and from death; yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me." I love this scripture because Alma is explaining to his son how when he has trusted in God, God always has helped him in his trials. In the same way if we can put our confidence in the Lord, we will be lifted up in our trials. No matter if we are in the darkest of prisons or in difficult situations, we will always be saved.

- Injections: Wednesday morning I woke up with boils going down the sides of my body and all over my arms. It turns out that no good deed goes unpunished, and the water/mud from the well we had dug 2 days before had infected my skin. It was a bit painful, but luckily I was able to get some medications from a nearby farmacia to help me. I never thought I would have to have other missionaries give me injections in my butt (2 each day for the last week), but I'm grateful for the blessing of modern medicine in the world today and for how much I feel better!

Sorry for the long email, hope you all have a great week!
