General Confrence
Naksa!
What a great weekend! I hope everyone had the chance to listen to General Confrence this year, there were so many great talks. I loved the experiences that Elder Holland shared and how the power of prayer is real in our lives.
This week we have been really busy and working hard. Saturday morning before general conference we had the baptism service for Jima and it was such a cool experience! We found Jima about a month ago, we were walking one day to the house of the District President when Jhon (a recent convert) told us he had a cousin who wanted to be baptized tomorrow haha. We've been teaching him ever since each and it's been so cool to see the change he's made in his life. We've gotten pretty close (he's 18 as well) and I'm hoping we can keep working with his so he heads out on the mission!
Sunday afternoon we also had the baptismal service for the Gonzales Family. We've been teaching the mom, Esmeralda, ever since I arrived here in Puerto Cabezas. She lost her husband 3 years ago, so the plan of salvation was something really special for her. It's been a great 6 weeks and it's truly a miracle that the they were able to get baptized. It's been so cool to see how little acts of faith (reading the scriptures, praying, going to church) really makes big impacts and changes in the lives of those we teach. The power of Book of Mormon is real and it's so important in the conversion process. She was also baptized with her son, Gaspar, and her nephew named Celvin.
This weekend was very special and I'm super appreciative that I was blessed to get to know Jima, Esmeralda, Gaspar, and Celvin. They are amazing people and I'm looking forward to seeing the blessings they will recieve in their lives as they continue to progress on the covenant path.

Spiritual Thought
One of my favorite scriptures is in Alma 36:3, which says, "And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day." It is crucial that we learn to put in our trust in God even at a young age so that we can have his support in our times of trouble.

- Church building in Lamlaya: In our area we have been working hard to open up another branch in a community outside of Puerto Cabezas called Lamlaya. We are going to begin renting the building, but there's a bit more work we gotta do but we are excited to begin having meetings there.
