March Madness

Titian yamni!
I hope everyone had a great Easter! Sorry that I haven't been able to write in a while, I didn't have a phone for the last few weeks (I'll just say someone needed it more than I did haha) but I got a new one this week so its all good.
It's been such a great month here in Puerto Cabezas. Life here is very different from the rest of Nicaragua and its been awesome learning a new culture, eating turtle and different kinds of sea food, and learning the language of Miskitu.
One of the coolest parts of March was having the chance to baptize the Simion Family. We have been teaching Silvio, Anolina, Randy, and Nacheli for a while and it's been so cool to see how the gospel has changed their lives. Each time we visited them I could see their testimony and happiness grow and we almost always found someone sitting down reading the Book of Mormon.
It was a miracle that we were able to pull off 2 weddings and have the baptism at the beach the same day, it's just evidence that God was in the works of everything! I'm so grateful that I've had the opportunity to get to know and teach the Simion Family and I hope that they can continue progressing in the church after their baptism as well.

New Words in Miskitu🐢
Trabil âpu - No problem
Midiki Tara - Big white man
Lagrit - Turtle

Spiritual Thought
One of the coolest parts about learning a third language is that it's helped me to deepen my understanding in the gospel. The word for repentance in Miskitu is "Kupia Lakanka," which means a change (lakanka/chenstakaya) in heart (Kupia). Really repentance is something super basic, it's just means that we are trying to change our desires/actions to more like Christ. It's a process that takes time, but when we have a change in heart we can really feel more of the love that Jesus has for each and every one of us.

- Baptism of Silvio, Anolina, Randy, and Nacheli: The waves were crazy and we all got knocked down haha but it was definitely one of the best days of my life! It was so cool to see how happy they were and how they have been changed.
- Randy and Nacheli had a baby girl and decided to name her after my comp and I because of the difference we have made in their lives. Her name is Keys Alejandra (for Case and Alejandro), and even though they usted my name for a girl it's still such an honor.
- Pic with Pastor Carlos: We've been teaching a pastor of the Moravian church and it's been such a cool experience. He's gone to our church quite a few times and he wants to be baptized this Saturday, so I'll write more next week.
- Super P-Day in Managua: It was a 11 hour bus ride to the capital but P-Day eas a blast. We did a zone wide group dance to the "Greatest Showman," did water games, and played basketball
