¡Buenas dias!
It's been so fun getting to know my new area here Puerto Cabezas. The missionaries here say that it's a whole other different mission here and it's definitely true. The culture, language, and life is way different than the rest of Nicaragua and I've loved getting to know a bit more of it each day. Elder Mejia and I worked really hard this week and it was super cool to see all of the miracles that have happened.
I had one of the weirdest experiences on the mission last Saturday, one of our appointments fell through so we were contacting and looking for more people to teach. We got invited into a home and we began to get to know the family. We were talking when all of the sudden the grandma walked in and starting telling me that "I had kids here in Puerto Cabezas." I was pretty confused for so many reasons haha, but she was sure that I had kids here and demanded that I helped them. At this point I wasn't sure what to do, my comp and the rest of the family was dying laughing haha. After about 3 minutes of being scolded by the lady, she finally told me that I was the "dad" of so many kids because I was the "pastor of the mormon church" and that many of the people living here (including her children) had been baptized in our church long ago so they were technically "my children." She then told me that her kids hadn't gone to church in years and that they hadn't made good choices, so it was my responsibility to help my kids follow Christ again.
It was pretty hilarious haha and the whole situation actually turned out to be a great experience. I explained that we were missionaries and that we'd love to help them. We talked with the rest of the family and they told us that they've felt so different without the gospel in their life. We shared a message with them and invited them to come to church, and then the next day they came for the first time in in years. It was super cool to see them there. The grandma told her grandkids to say goodbye to dad when they left so there's still a bit of problems with that haha, but I'm excited to continue to help the whole family continue to live in the gospel.

Spiritual Thought
I love this scripture in Alma 11:40 that talks about the mission of Jesus Christ. "And he shall come into the world to redeem his people; and he shall take upon him the transgressions of those who believe on his name; and these are they that shall have eternal life, and salvation cometh to none else."
