Training and teaching other missionaries and 2 wonderful baptisms!!!!
Hey everyone! How's it going for you all? It was another super busy week here in La Primavera of San Pedro but that's how I like it. Mainy this week was dedicated on the interviews. Usually the assistants don't have to attend the interviews but President Cristales wanted us there to help him oversee some teaching practices. Basically we watched all the missionaries go through a lesson, and then gave them advice, congrats, and tips. It was pretty fun to observe all the different teaching styles, and I believe it helped me to come up with some new ideas and teaching strategies. During the interviews, we also looked over the area book of each companionship. The area book is basically all the information about an area, such as recent converts, progressing investigators, and people with a baptismal date. It helps other missionaries learn the area and find more people to teach. We were in charge of looking over them and making sure that they were updated and organized. It was pretty fun for me because I got to meet more missionaries on a personal level and see how things were going in their area. Anyways, things in our area are going well as well. This Saturday we had two baptisms! One was the 9 year old daughter of a less active family named Claudia. The parents are still less active but the 16 year old brother got reactivated and starting taking his sister to church. We taught her and it went really well. She's a really sweet little girl that already has a testimony and was excited to get baptized. The other kid that got baptized is the neighbor friend of the less active family. He's a 17 year old young man named Johnathan. It was pretty cool because the less active young man once he got reactivated, started talking to his neighbors about the Church and now two of his best friends are baptized. This has opened the gate to their families which are now listening to us! So that was a pretty cool experience for me. Anyways, hope that everyone is doing well! Till next week!
