Castle Rock

Elder Corbin Tenney

(no axes)

All we seem to do is drive, talk to people, drive, and get canceled on. I'm dying to do some service to mix things up. Elder Tenney keeps saying that last transfer, the most effective way to get new investigators in our area was wood chopping. Sadly, President McAteer just put out a policy adding axes to the banned tools list. But you can't miss what you never knew so who cares. I might be able to go to the Portland temple tomorrow though. Elder Tenney has been working with this less-active couple for months and they just got their recommends. The only problems would be that we are suppose to have interviews with President tomorrow as well but traffic is suppose to be terrible. Either one is good though, President McAteer is amazing and it looks like we might start another temple prep class for two sisters in the ward (though they might not invite us along... as a mission we go about every six months and we arrived just after a trip, so the next'll be around christmas).
I got yelled at for the first time this week. And then a member gave us apple pie. I still have two of those cookies, they're starting to smell a little weird and taste a little stale. Ice cream is way better here though, the Tillimock factory is nearby and it is SOOOO creamy! I don't remember having ice cream quite as good, close, but no cigar. There is a lot of stain glass up here too, I've seen a few in Castle Rock but it's all over Longview.
Elder Tenney is pretty cool, complains about how he's losing hair, but he can really bring the spirit into a lesson. It's a bit weird, he's 23 and has a finace? degree from BYU-I. I don't think I mentioned that the person we put on date to be baptized was his girlfriend. She was up here on vacation and knew enough to know that he could get in a lot of trouble because of it. President was pretty proud of how they handled it though. If only we could find golden people like that more often...
Elder Tenney's mom sent us a Jesus shirt. It put's a different spin on 'the Savior of the World'.
The eclipes was cool, we got like 97% of it. We watched as a Zone at the stake center, it's been an experience. They're lots of fun, even when you're dodging 4 squrare balls while emailing.
Anyhow, thanks again for that package, I'm enjoying it emensly. Love ya,
Elder Nielsen
