Castle Rock

Elder Corbin Tenney

1st p day in the field

It has been crazy out here. We don't do enough finding if you ask me but we've met some amazing people so far. To save time I'll tell you about yesterday, the biggest one.
We went to church and all through church there's this random girl who is rivited on the spirit. Everyone was talking to her so I assumed she was a visiting member but nope, investigator traveling home to Texas. I almost walked away but overheard that she was investigating the church as we left. We were almost to the car before deciding to go back. So we volunteered a lesson and a member offered their home and dinner after.
Going into this lesson was weird because I knew I could teach that lesson. I've been doubting myself and such but I knew we needed to do this one. So we talked about why we keep the commandments shared a scripture, the members had a story or two, and the spirit was strong. Elder Tenney gave a quick speel about the Word of wisdom and I paused the conversation. I mentioned the spirit in the room asked a couple questions to try and get her to teach herself about the spirit and invited her to be baptized. She was almost crying. The spirit in that room was intense. So she's on date for the 19th of August if we can get missionaries to her in Texas.

Castle rock is awesome, there are a lot of great people outhere and we are teaching two wonderful part member families and we hope to get them on date soon.

Elder Tenney is sweet. Germafobe and just got out of training but knows the gospel well.

The Lord is preparing people and continually qualifies me.

P.S. I'm still waiting on that package but the anticipation is awesome. I just hope the the cookies are still good.
