What a week! And I've forgotten most of it already. Ryan Merkley who trained my trainer, Elder Tenney, came and visited the mission today. He and President McAteer had birthdays this last week so we sang to them today. We (the van west zone) met at presidents house for a pancake breakfast. It was really good and we all enjoyed it.
Saturday was an experience. First we through out our plans cause we felt like we needed to go somewhere else. Well, I did, Elder Muhonen was feeling where we needed to go. While on an exchange with the Spanish elders, Elder Muhonen stopped by sister Tolva who had a referral for us (that day we both had the feeling we needed to go see her even though we were in opposite sides of vancouver). So on a bright Saturday afternoon we left the Heilmann's home for a pouring rainstorm 5 minutes later. When we arrived at the Tolva's our thighs were soaked. My rain coat worked just fine but your legs are in danger when riding a bike in the rain. Thankfully sister Tolva let us come in and dry off (and supplied some toast and jam 😁). Afterwards, she took us to her friend Gigi's home. Not only did she love the Restoration we shared and the light, wonderful feeling that jshe had as we were in her home, but the Book of Mormon that we brought with us just happened to not only be in her language, but in her dialect! The Lord does not do random!
Elder Anderson (an amazing Spanish missionary in my district that I have loved getting to know) shared an stellar scripture at district meeting yesterday, D&C 33:4. I loved the reference to Nephi of old and was going to share it in a dinner thought last night. As the conversation progressed though, I felt like theat want the scripture we should share and 1 Nephi 15:9,10,12 came to mind. I love that scripture cause of the promise that as we ask and desire to do the Lord's will, to truly understand God, he will reveal himself to us.
Thank you for your letters, I love hearing what's going on back at home. I guess the award "most likely to start a fire goes to the family, not just Ian 🤣. Man, it blows my mind to realize that school is over and everyone is doing so much!
Love y'all, praying for you,
