Hello everyone! It has been another fantastic week in AZ. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving and were able to reflect on the many blessings the Lord has given you! There are so many more than we ever realize and it's always good to take a step back and be grateful for them. This week was great for us, nothing too new or out of the ordinary, love being a missionary. So I'll just keep it short and sweet. One of the things I studied during my personal study this week was a talk from April 1989 by President Benson titled, "Beware of Pride." During this talk he says, " Pride is essentially competitive in nature. We pit our will against God’s, " and he also quotes CS Lewis, " Pride gets no pleasure out of having something, only out of having more of it than the next man. … It is the comparison that makes you proud: the pleasure of being above the rest. Once the element of competition has gone, pride has gone." I really liked this quote! Essentially, we when feel we just want to be a little better than someone else, have a little bit more, or be a little bit smarter, be a little bit more right, we are showing our pride. We know from the Book of Mormon that pride is the downfall of many nations and civilizations! We see this in our own country. I encourage everyone to read this talk and think how you can be more as a little child. Here is my joke for the week. Why didn't 4 ask out 5? Because he was 2 squared.
