Hello everyone! It's good to be with you once again, what a lovely June week we have had. And a busy one as well! Elder Laurie got shipped off to Shiprock on Tuesday, and Elder Kelly came in! We were already familiar with each other, so it has been a lot of fun! We have been able to contact a lot of people, and a lot of people that my companion was teaching the first time he served here! So that is a blessed opportunity. We had one of the last Navajo Code Talkers funerals at our church this week, who also happened to be our stake presidents father. This was a pretty big deal! For those of you who are unaware, the Code Talkers played a huge part for the US military during WWII and helped us win! So there was a lot of officials and marines and people here. It was a good experience and I felt like a part of history! Another excited thing that has happened this week, a committee came down from Salt Lake to retranslate the Book of Mormon in Navajo. As of right now the one that we have is only selections of the book of Mormon, and they are working on the full thing! We were able to sit in a little bit and talk to then, and they even had me read a verse in Navajo and translate it into English (1 Nephi 2:15 😉). But it has been amazing, we have been staying busy! We came across these people that looked like they were working outside so we stopped to ask if we could help them. Turns out their house had burnt down that day, so they were cleaning that up a little bit and there were some people cleaning and refurbishing the space that they will be living in now. We went and helped them clean that up, and we had to take this dresser out to a shed. I was walking backwards and my heel got caught on a rock and the dresser came down on my knee. Super uncomfortable because I hyperextened it! But it's ok though, I went and got it checked out and got a brace, it was only a sprain and should be healed quickly. But the people we were helping refurbish the place we were able to set up a lesson with and seem super promising! The Lord works in mysterious ways and I'm excited to work with them! We had a record number of people at church this week too for me so that was amazing to see. But it has been a great week. Here is my closer. What did the sea say to the beach? Nothing, it just waved!
