This is Cameron's last week with his current Mission President before President Riggins and his wife return him. Cameron said, "It will be very hard. He is such an amazing guy. The amount of tasks that he takes on and at the same time he is able to show the missionaries and those who are around him the love of Christ. He is one of the hardest workers I have seen. He runs on such little sleep and gives so much and expects nothing in return."
Dear Family,
This week has been a good week.
Sunday Night we arrived at one of our investigators house and she told us that she doesn't want us to come by. She was crying as she said it. We asked to say a prayer before we could leave and she said yes. After saying it we sung, "I Am a Child of God". We left and found her boyfriend, who we have been teaching, drunk walking in the streets. He came up to us and apologized for his condition. He told us he wanted us to come by. It was hard. We told him what had happened but he said what his wife had said doesn't matter. I felt heartbroken. I loved this family and I have known for the longest time they weren't keeping their commitments.
Monday we set up the Marriage for the Osuna Family. They will get married next Monday! Once they are married they will get baptized the next week. What joy they must have. They have known the truth and have passed through multiple trials and tribulations on their journey to follow their Savior Jesus Christ. I am sure their faith and testimonies have been deepened. We are trying to help the daughter make the same decision her parents will make. She is a little less inclined to be baptized. They have waited almost 6 months because of the consistent trials they experienced.
Tuesday Night We visited a family named Familia Sanchez. They are from a city called Vinces where I was working before. We taught them the only true God. The reason we do that is because it is our first fundamental belief. It is the foundation to our house of faith. If we start to teach about the restoration first or the law of chastity our other principles we add a roof or walls to a house without a base. In sure time it will fall. They understand better the reason to be baptized and they understand that God not only is a God of love. They come to know his attributes and perfections. I tried to teach in that way. We talked with them afterwards and gained a little bit of friendship. I hope and pray that this family will come to the waters of baptism to covenant that they will keep his commandments so that they might experience the redeeming love from the grace of God.
Wednesday we went through the temple as a Zone and we did initiatories. I was a phenomenal experience. President was able to help me understand a little more of the symbolism that we see in the temple. I feel a strong desire to learn and study more about the temple when I return home. I would love to learn in the Lords house of instruction as D&C 97 states. I would love to be instructed by his Holy Spirit to gain a further knowledge and a deeper faith and love for my God.
Friday we discovered that one of our office members Elder Wright will be leaving the office to be a Zone Leader. We will all miss him. He has brought a great spirit to the office and has been an instrument in the Lord´s hands while he has been here. He will be missed by many.
This was a small summary for this week. This is a scripture that I am wanting to use to measure my progress. It is found in Alma 5:14 Have ye received his image in your countenances?
My hope is that my image is His image and that my decisions are his. I want to be in perfect harmony with His will.
