Hey everyone, it's my first P-Day in the MTC! I've only been here for four days, but it already feels like I've been here two weeks. It's crazy here. You learn at such a break neck speed all the time that time feels like it has slowed down to a crawl. It's amazing here though. I already feel like a completely different person. I've had to reevaluate a lot of what I thought I knew about teaching the gospel. I'll only get better as time goes on.
So, I got made District Leader, which is pretty cool. My main job is to make sure my District is dong good and acts as a family. They're already doing that without me having to nudge too hard, which is a huge blessing. My companion is Elder Craven, from Calvary Alberta, Canada, and going to the Canada Montreal mission. Pretty wild stuff right there. He's probably the best companion I could've asked for. I can tell he wants to work, and we clicked personality wise, which is always a plus. Fun fact about my district, I'm the only one going to the Maryland Baltimore mission. Everyone else's companion is going to the same mission as them, but not Elder Craven and I.
My favorite thing that has happened so far was when we got to talk to three different people about the gospel. On the second night we were here, they split all the new missionaries into lots of groups and had us talk to 3 different people about their questions and concerns. It was a really special and humbling experience to teach us how to listen to the needs of others.
Well, that's all I got for now. The church is true. If you are struggling to know, just give a simple prayer. God will always answer you.
1. Me in the back right, Elder Craven in front of me, Elder Jenkins next to him, and Elder White next to me.
2. Sister Mittens, the MTC cat
3. A spoon just in our dorm room. We didn't put it there.
