Another Week Down

Bonjour ma famille!!!!

What a week! So this last week we had a lot of teaching rendez-vous (appointments). Most of them actually worked out which was a huge blessing. The highlight of teaching this week was with a new ami named Joshia. We found him while contacting some apartments.

We finally had a leçon with him and it went really well. He is Dominican so he speaks perfect English (which is one of the reasons I like him so much). When we started the leçon I told him I came from a big family and he blew my number out of the water-he has 16 brothers and sisters!!!!!!

Needless to say, he is awesome. We had our first leçon on the restoration and he said he would read and pray about it and he is just the coolest man. I'm really excited.

Some highlights from this week are strange and may be a little unexpected because they are all about shaving.
I've noticed that some of our amis shave with some peculiar things. I've made it a goal to document them all.
So I've included two photos of shaving. The first was with an Aloe Vera plant. The guy was just rubbing it all over his head. The second was with tweezers and WD-40. He plucked his entire face! Let me just say it wasn't the best shave.

So this week we also did some service for some métropolitains (people from France) and their house was beautiful. I took some photos of the sitting area outside their house.

Another photo is of me with one of my favorite members Frère Robby. We went over to do a practice leçon with him and he started talking about movies. He said he saw the Avatar movie in theaters 14 times. He even learned their pretend dialect. WOW.

The last photo is of the water. I cry every time I see the ocean.

The last highlight was from yesterday when we were at dinner with an ami and she made us a 7 course Haitian meal. It was sooooooooooooo good. After we left, we were late for another meeting and we were in traffic. It turned out we were in the middle of a parade (called a carnival). The entire parade marched around us for 20 minutes. It was crazy. I got it all on video but the file is too big to send. I'll just show it to you when I get back (something to look forward to).

Anyways, I hope everyone is having a good week.
Love you all...and to quote Frère Robby: "Don't worry, be happy"

To Truman and Winston:
I just wanted you to know that I love you both so much. You guys make me laugh so hard at every email. You are both setting a good example for me. I'm so proud of you.

This is by far the hardest and most rewarding experience of my life. The gospel really brings JOY.

If you are sad at all just look at this picture I'm sending you. I learned to tie my tie really small and I do it a lot to make my comp laugh when he is sad .

I call it "mini tie." It takes skill to do it that small.

Anyways, love you boyz. Take care.

Love,
Elder Casady
