So this last week I went to Barbados for MLC. It was an amazing experience. SO actually this is really unique because earlier this year Guadeloupe was finally dedicated by Elder Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve. That is where I started my mission and this last month Barbados was finally dedicated by Elder Renlund of the Quorum of the Twelve. So what does it mean to be dedicated? It is when an Apostle of the Lord comes and gives a dedicatory prayer opening the land to missionary work and to establish the Church. The islands were dedicated as a group in the 1980s, I believe. But the First Presidency decided to rededicate each island as an individual place. Martinique has yet to be dedicated.
So one remarkable thing is that this last week Elder Jack and I flew to Barbados for MLC (Missionary Leadership Council). President Herrington took the entire council to Gun Hill in Barbados. This is where Elder Renlund came a few weeks ago and dedicated the land of Barbados. President Herrington then read to us parts of his prayer. It was truly a remarkable and spiritual experience, one that I will never forget.
I love this Church. I know it is true. I really do.
