Hello, this was an exciting week. El CCM is amazing but very tiring. We have 6 hours of language study everyday and 3 hours of personal and companion study.
We have devotionals on Tuesday’s and Sundays and my Zone is amazing. I joined Choir along with the rest of my zone and we sang“Nearer my God” to thee yesterday.
Elder Andersen spoke in yesterday’s devotional, it was broadcast live. It was really awesome.
My Companion Elder Fine is awesome. He lived in Seattle and went to college at Utah state. He is really friendly and knows everyone here. He along with Elder Lowen and Elder Lewis is going to Panama. Elder Lowen and Elder Lewis are also amazing Elder Lewis was friends with Seth Perrault at BYU and his Dad went to the same mission as Dad. Elder Lowen is Canadian and really funny.
The rest of the Zone is so friendly and they really welcomed me and mis compañeros. They have all these funny traditions and quirky things they do that crack me up. They have this tradition where they take grahm cracker based cookies, bite off the corners and drink milk out of a bowl. Is really not for me but it’s fun to mock them.
Four Square is really fun, but people get really into it and tend to get there feelings hurt, because we are better than them.
I have also had to about 100 push ups throughout the past week, because I keep on saying you guys; instead of you Elders.
The Spirit is so strong here. There was an occasion where the choir teacher was telling one of the Elders of a story where President Ballards Great Great grandpa had a dream, where he was in the temple and he heard someone call his name from the sealing room. He went over he saw a man whose countenance defied all description. The man walked over to him called him by name and kissed his head and gave him a hug. He said that he felt the spirit so strong when he hugged him that his very bones felt like they were going to melt. He feel on his feet and kissed them. The mans face was so bright he didn’t recognize him but when he kissed his feet he saw the scares on his feet. This story really touched me because it reminded me of how much Jesus loves me and that he loves all of us.
The teachers are really amazing and my spanish teachers are excellent at teaching spanish. They really care about us and want us to succeed. There is a saying in my Zone, it is Chistes y wisdom. That means jokes and wisdom. The people in my zone are really good at stressing the facts that while it is Important to to learn Spanish and feel the spirit, it is also important to be yourself and have fun. That really makes the difference here because it can get overwhelming at times so it is really nice to unwind.
