hey everyone,
this last week was really fun and hard. But mostly fun. at the end of the previous week, we had about 20-25 boxes of cheezits. It's not the normal brand sized boxes. 700 lbs/box!!! it was insane. if you do the math right, it equals to be about 20,400 brand boxes of cheezits. its just an abnormal amount of cheezits. haha and we had volunteers come in both tuesday and thursday to help box them in smaller boxes. it was really fun to meet them and help them. I love the service I get to do for others. It brings me the best joy seeing and talking with people who are in need of food or just want to help. I love it.
This week I got to meet Dayton. He is the best. He is disabled from the waist down and he commuincates by blinking twice for yes and once for no. But this week I got to meet his family and him. He just got off of his service mission and still goes to the temple twice a week. His mom asked me if I would be willing to take him to the temple. It gave me so much peace, comfort and guidance to life when I accepted the task. The blessings of attending the temple are huge in my life. I know the true and everlasting blessings of attending the temple. President Thomas S. Monson once said this about temples and the blessings we receive. He said "As we attend the temple, there can come to us a dimension of spirituality and a feeling of peace which will transcend any other feeling which could come into the human heart. We will grasp the true meaning of the words of the Savior when He said: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you. … Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Such peace can permeate any heart—hearts that are troubled, hearts that are burdened down with grief, hearts that feel confusion, hearts that plead for help." I love what he says. We will be filled, head to toe, with the spirit and a feeling of peace will overcome us and bear testimony of the power of temples. He quotes a scripture in the book of John which says "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." The peace the temple brings is the best. I know that we can experience this peace and ask for guidance and direction in our lives when we attend the House of the Lord. I say these things in His name, our Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ, Amen.
Love you all!
