Hey everybody, I am now able to inform you that my preparation day was changed to today instead of Monday just because of the Holiday. So it will be back to normal next week. President wanted us all to be out contacting since lots of people were going to be home for the Holiday.
Well the last 2 weeks have been really hard as far as finding people to teach. We have lots of people that tell us to come back later and then never talk to us again... haha. It has also been really tough because as far as finding around our house in Gettysburg, there are more tourists than people that live here. Most people we talk to just say they dont have time and that they dont even live here ;(.
This week has honestly flown by. We got the big announcement about being able to call home on preparation day. When the email was sent, Elder Clayton and I were just about to eat lunch. It took me about 10 min to calm him down before he told me what was going on. We both are not very sure about how we feel about the change, however we know our Heavenly Father brought it at this time because members and missionaries are ready for it. We invited about 6 different people to church this Sunday and we saw 2 there at church this last week. We have been able to teach quite a few lessons that I felt went really well.
Quick funny story, we were at the store shopping today and after we had grabbed everything we needed we started to head to the check out line and this one 10 year old girl was with her mom. And as we passed them the 10 year old girl said " How ya doin boyyys" in the most flirtatious way and we couldn't control our laughter haha.
Spiritual thought of the week is John 3:12 "If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?" This just made me think and ponder a lot. Lots of people struggle with testimonies and want to see God do some amazing works in their lives, However if we are blind as to how he has already blessed us, why would he give us a huge spiritual experience? The most that would do is spiritually uplift us for a little bit then over time we would lose the meaning of that spiritual experience always looking for more, but never holding on to the ones we have had. If we constantly remember the spiritual feelings we have had and thank Heavenly Father for them, that is when we will come to see more miracles and blessing in our lives.
