Elder Dixion and I are now Companions. We got trained together in Honolulu so we became good friends there and now were comps in Maui. We get along super well so its gonna be a fun 7 weeks! I am now serving in the Wailuku ward. It's on the edge of the city. It's about 15 minutes away from the Airport.
I got to our new apartment and there was absolutely no food so I've been living off of the Easter candy my mom sent me last week. 🔥😂
We had a Miricle Yesterday! Elder Dixion was showing me around the area and we decided to knock on some Inactive Members doors and we came across a guy named 'Guy Wilson'. He answered the door with a brewski in his hand and invited us in. He said he hasn't been to church in over a decade. He was baptized and didnt have any fellowshipers so he eventually faded away. We intived him to church that Easter Sunday and what do ya know! He showed up! I was super stoked. As sacrement ended he said he was glad that he came! Also 6 investigators were able to make it to church yesterday.. that's never a bad thing. :)
We were able to baptize a lady named Jennifer this weekend. She is just a "little" ball of joy. She got baptized on 4/20.. which is national Marijuana day and she told our bishop she is "getting high off the spirit" 🤣 I was able to confirm her a member yesterday and as soon as I said "Receive the Holy Ghost" she said "WOOOAH" super loud. She is just awesome. 😂 the ward loves her and she is full of energy.
On transfer day I flew over my last area and it honeslty was super sad. I loved the area it was super beautiful and the members were awesome. I am really excited to be serving here in Maui with Elder Dixion!
I'll finish this email off with a scripture I really liked this week.
Mosiah 16: 8-9
8 But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.
9 He is the light and the life of the world; yea, a light that is endless, that can never be darkened; yea, and also a life which is endless, that there can be no more death. Jesus Christ lives!
