Letter 22

Buenas tardes mi gente, KLK.

A new year in the books and it was a pretty good one. We had to be in our room at 8:30 again haha, but we borrowed some games like Monopoly and Risk from some members. We played them in our room and we ordered 2 chickens and chiffles and ate a ton of food! So, it was chill. New Year's is way crazier here. Everyone buys fireworks (like EVERYONE) and they all shoot them off. They burn these life sized dolls that have bombs in them, so everywhere you look there are fireworks and fires in the street and everyone is drunk the whole week haha.

This week had some ups and downs. The people we were working with had some setbacks. Maryuri and Jose didn't come to church, so they can't get baptized yet. Almost all of our fechas cayeron, but there were also some awesome miracles this week. We found some amazing new people this week. One night, I felt prompted to knock on this door and we found this guy who is super awesome named Angel. He is prepared to hear the gospel. He even asked us, "Why are there so many churches when there is only one God?" And I was like, "Alright let me tell ya!" Another night, we were walking and this one dude came up to us and asked us what he needed to do to be saved. He told us that he has been drinking a lot and other stuff, but that he really wants to change. Then, in church one day, I was feeling a little frustrated with our investigators because they aren't coming to church. I said a little prayer and then, after the meeting, a little boy came up to us and said that he just turned 8 and that he wants to be baptized. His parents aren't members, but his two brothers are recent converts. So, that was another miracle that we saw. I know the Lord is answering my prayers even when the missionary work isn't going too hot. He just keeps giving us miracles.

Have a great week everyone. We won't have water for about 2 weeks, so I'm going to be showering with a bowl this week. Wish me luck!
