It's been a great last couple of weeks! Just a little update, I'm out of Bristol and back in Cardiff Wales and am loving it! Wales is such a beautiful place and the people here are so friendly and funny which makes it always a super happy environment even when it pours rain, which it does about 50% of the time. It's been great to be able to catch up with people who I got to know and serve well a year ago. It's just been weird to realize how long it has actually been. My companion Elder Olsen and I are currently living in the Cardiff Bay area which is beautiful, I'll make sure to include pictures. There are a ton of great views and historic sites to visit everywhere we go. There are also three other Elders covering Cardiff in another flat, Elder Stoddart, Elder Martinez, and Elder Morriss, which is cool because they're fairly close and we're able to hang out a lot.

I had a really cool experience the other week that I wanted to include it in here. So Kris is a recent concert over here who got baptized when I was here last summer that is also now actually a service missionary. Part of what he's doing for his service mission is using a donated allotment, given due to the church's help during the floods, to grow produce for those in need in the community. He's been preparing it for a few months now and they decided to have an opening ceremony of sorts and invite a ton of people from the floods and the local ward to come and be a part of it. It was great to see everyone again and catch up with so many great people who I was fortunate enough to serve with over a year ago now. It almost felt like a homecoming. It was especially good to see Gavin again, Gavin helped out a ton during the floods and Elder Farar (my companion back then) and I got really close to him. Funny enough apparently Gavin's wife has some history with the church and went to sacrament meeting and Sunday school often while growing up because some of her close friends were members. I personally don't think that's a coincidence but we'll see what happens, his family is going to be coming to church pretty soon so I'll include and update after that happens.

We also had zone conference this last week. It was very nice not to have to stress about the logistics of it all and just kind of sit back and take it all in. It was definitely a unique one because it is President Hughes' last zone conference before he goes back home. He spoke about the tree of life which is definitely one of his favorite topics and shared so many incredible insights that truly changed my view of that verse of scripture in 1 Nephi 8 & 11, largely by walking us through and showing us that the tree of life is a "metaphor for conversion throughout The Book of Mormon".

It'll be quite strange when President Hughes goes home. I feel like I'll just be some old missionary who remembers the pre-covid times. To be fair I guess I have been here for quite some time but it doesn't always feel like it. Some days it does but others it seems like I just got off the plane.
