It's been quite an eventful last couple of weeks. Elder Anderson and I had a really cool experience a few weeks ago. We were heading back to the flat after going grocery shopping and came across this Chinese family struggling to get a large fridge into their Take Away shop. We stepped in and asked them if they needed help and they were super grateful and gave us two large bottles of coke after we managed to get their massive fridge inside and said some things in Chinese that I couldn't understand haha. Once we finished up at the Take Away and got back to the flat Brother Price and Brother Neck were there waiting for us with a load of stuff to drop off. Brother Price knows someone who imports American A&W Root Beer and gave us a whole case, I don't know why but authentic American root beer is nearly impossible to come by over here. I was so excited to have such a rare taste of home again haha. Brother Neck had a bunch of snacks that he wanted to drop off but it was super ironic that he stopped by because we had just bought a funny gift for his neighbor who we have been teaching and on the walk back home I was trying to think of a way to get it to her without someone having to go too far out of their way. So that was definitely a little miracle right there. The next day we went back to that Chinese Take Away to get dinner and they gave us 10% for helping them so that was really cool.
One of the returning members who we are teaching decided to give up alcohol the other day so we invited her to trade us something for all the alcohol she had in her house. We offered to give her a ton of snacks and sweets but she only wanted our testimonies written out on a piece of paper which really surprised me. She came by shortly after that conversation with a bag full of booze and we spend probably a half an hour pouring alcohol down the drain. That was a huge step for her and quite honestly not one that I thought she was even going to be close to making anytime soon. But I am beyond glad that she did.
We had transfers last week and I found out that I'm staying another transfer in Pontypridd which is mad. This is my 5th transfer here which means that if I do leave next transfer, which I'm assuming I will, I will have been here for nearly 8 months. Which is absolutely mental. My new companion is Elder Logan from Lehi Utah. He's been out for 4 months which is funny because he only had 2 days of "normal" missionary work before lockdown. Bless him. He's a good companion though and I'm happy to be able to work with him.
On Monday we met this really amazing guy named Luke in the park for a chat. He's a member that has just recently moved over to Ponty to attend the local university and has a crazy backstory. I don't think I've ever met someone who has had so many trials in their life but still somehow managed to exponentially grow their faith in God at the same time. He has such a strong desire to do missionary work and help others in any way he can, especially those who are going through trials that he has been through. Definitely a great example to me of Christlike love.

Hope everyone is well and enduring these crazy times well,
-Elder Brendan Pricer
