I’m still trying to get the most I can out of every day and it has been going well. That said, it can be hard to find the motivation to get up and go on the treadmill for an hour every day (and other stuff like that). I'm really working on being a self coach to myself to get it done. I've found promising myself some sort of reward afterward really helps a lot.

Half of my mission has returned home. One of the good things that has come out of this bad situation is that it has forced missionaries to be innovative. We have been getting frequent updates and trainings from the area presidency on how we can more effectively use Facebook to find and teach people. In regards to missionary work in Britain, we have had to become a lot more creative and a lot less imitative, which is a good change. The "traditional" or push market oriented culture of missionary work wasn't worked effectively in the past. Missionaries, particularly in my mission, would spend hours on end in town centres along side electric and gas salesmen trying to get people to listen to their message. It didn’t work. People saw them just as pestering and annoying as the salesmen. I'm glad that we're being forced to think in new and creative ways to preach the gospel.

We had a really good conference call today with the stake presidency. I'm happy to say that we are going to help with the humanitarian relief in Southern Wales. Salt Lake has provided the stake with funds to supply 10 local hospitals with 10,000 bags of hygenic items that are in high demand given how many people are in the hospital right now. The three other Elders living in Ponty and I have a 10 day window to pack these 10,000 bags in our flat since we can't go to the chapel.

Things are pretty rough over here. We're losing missionaries left right and centre. I think we're down to 100 now and the mission is normally at around 200. This is tough. But as Elder Holland quoted the poet Robert Frost in conference "I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep, and miles to go before I sleep".
