Sort of out of the blue, Elder Farar and I got invited to go bowling with a police officer and her 5 year old son who we had met during the flood clean up experience. It was super fun! We had a lot of great conversations and a ton of fun. She let us know that this Friday the military will be coming down and helping the police force mandate an offical medieval age crackdown on the communtiy to minimize the spread of COVID-19. She also offered to drop off anything we need during the crackdown since she'll be driving around in her police car.

As of now my mission has had 43 missionaries go home due to health concerns. The mission is currently getting ready for us all to go into isolation. The Cardiff Elders have moved into our flat and are staying for however long that period of isolation is going to be. We've tried to prepare as best as we can to cope with the impending extended period time within the flat. The ward has supplied us with a small T.V. and DVD player so that we can watch church movies, thank goodness. We've also really been getting into Dungeons and Dragons over the past few days. Not something I would have done at home but since we don't have much else to do I've been going all out😂 My character is named Gethin the Khaki and I am a level 4 Elvish Wizard...so yeah.

As most of you know, life in isolation isn't the funnest thing in the world. Elder Farar and I were warned by some of the more experienced disaster relief responders, along with some of the stake presidency, that we could experience some withdrawal symptoms after the flood relief effort started to die down. Well it hasn't stopped, but we've still been told to stay inside. We've gone from flood clean up to sitting at home pretty much all day over the period of two or three days. What's made it even more hard is that people still need help but we can't do anything because we have to be inside. People who have had their homes destroyed, have no place to stay, have been told to self isolate, and still need help are out there and I can't help them. We had a few people, the majority elderly, reach out to us and ask if we were still able to come over and help them restore and santize their home. It's extremely hard to tell someone who is that much in need of help no.

If I end up having to leave here I'm going to be shattered. I've come to love this place and the people here so much and I don't have the heart to just pick up and leave. I'm glad to say I am not one of those missionaries who hates their mission and counts down every day until they return home. I loves England and Wales, this place is like home to me. There's so many more things I want to do out here, so many more places I want to go, and so many more people that I want to help.
