Ok everyone, I don't know how to introduce this so I'm just going to go right out and start. The river that runs right through Pontypridd has overflown pretty badly and a lot of homes and buisnesses have been destroyed. Please keep these people in your prayers. Some really need it. This is one of the saddest and most jawdropping things I've seen in my life. When we woke up this morning we got a few texts from some people asking if we were ok and telling us that Ponty had been drastically flooded. So naturally Elder Farar and I went into town to check it out for ourselves. As we walked to town we joked around a little but when we got there we quickly realized it was nothing to joke about. As we walked into town we noticed these women struggling to open up the large security metal door of their shop so we stepped in and offered to help. As I opened the door just enough for one of the women to squeeze in, she went in and immediately started to cry when she saw that her store had been flooded and was basically destroyed. That really hurt to watch. We tried to console them all the best we could and then left them our number in case they needed any help later in the week, when the storm had offically pasted, and then we headed out again to see the rest of Ponty. I have never seen anything like this before in my life. I saw people stuck on the second floor of their houses because the ground floor was flooded. I saw cars almost completely covered in water. At around that time we got a text from President Hughes telling us to stay in our flat today. So with all that going on we had to turn back and head home. So yeah overall it's been a pretty crazy day.
