This last week has been crazy. We had transfers on Tuesday. I said bye to Elder Warner and welcomed Elder Jefferies to Cannock. He's an awesome guy, a great missionary and we get along very well. I've already learned a ton from him and will undoubtingly learn a lot more before our time together is spent.

We had our Christmas zone conference this last week. It was awesome! We got to do our zone skits which turned out to be really fun and funny to watch. It was by far the best zone conference I've been at so far. Plus I got to see even more of my pals from my MTC group.

Being away from home this Christmas was a very hard but a huge learning experience. We had a chance to have Christmas Eve Dinner/Lunch with two of our friends who are completely on their own for Christmas. They told me that their own mother didn't want them to come over. My heart ached for them. What made it even more disheartening is that it didn't seem to affect them. They didn't know any different. How could I possibly feel sorry for myself? I have a family who loves and misses me and when these two years are up I get to go back to them. But not these two. They endure an isolated and lonely Christmas year after year. Being with them has opened my eyes to realize how good I have it. I am so grateful that I got to be with them and bring a small bit of my "normal" Christmas to them this year.

To all those future missionaries out there, please give your family a huge hug and let them know how much you love them. You won’t realize how much they mean to you until you have been apart from them for an extended period of time. I know I didn’t. Trust me on this.

I hope all of you had a great Christmas! I know I did!

Love you all,
