Sorry, This is last week's letter

I am still very much battling with home sickness. In all my “short" 18 years of life have I never been in an emotional fight like this before, nor did I ever imagine that I would be. Adjusting to a mission sucks but in the best way possible. I have never been stretched so much in such a short period of time. I have also never grown so much in such a short period of time. Thankfully, the Lord is kind and doesn't give me more than I can handle, although on some days I feel like He definitely pushes me close to my breaking point. I have felt a vast array of emotions in these last few weeks and it has been life changing. I am currently being renovated in some sense. I recognize that renovation requires that the old structure to be torn down before the new one can be put in place. However, at times it's definitely hard to keep that in mind as the early and sometimes painful stages of change take place.

This week has been incredible. We had a really cool experience this week with one of our friends. We met him a few weeks ago on the street and shared a message with him. While he really appreciated the message, we learned that we couldn’t continue working with him because he doesn't live in our area. However, on Wednesday we got a message from him saying that he was in the Cannock town centre and wanted to meet up. When we found him he opened up to us and told us all about the struggles and hardships that he has been going through. He also told us that he was contemplating suicide in order to find relief. I strongly cautioned him against it and urged him to turn to God instead. After a while of talking both Elder Warner and I had the impression that we needed to give him a blessing. Then we invited him to the chapel and gave him a quick tour. We taught him about the priesthood and how we are able to bestow blessings of comfort on people in the same way the Savior did during his earthly ministry. I had the amazing opportunity to give him the blessing and cannot begin to explain how strong the Spirit was in that room. I don't remember anything I said but am so grateful for that experience.

I am starting to really love Cannock. It's finally starting to feel like home. The members are awesome and part of me really hopes that I get to stay here for an extended period of time.

I hope all of you are doing great! I'm going to keep on fighting over here.
