Finally I have time to write a decent email so that's kind of dope! haha But this has been an awesome week. Awesome because we are baptizing a guy named Josue David on Sunday, we had a ton of investigators come to church with us which was awesome! And we are starting to find miracles in the mission. Not only just Josue but we also set a couple of other dates for later in the month!💪😁 I am excited for what is ahead of us! This week has also been a little bit hard because we have had to enter our apartment BEFORE 6 IN THE AFTERNOON for political reasons and that has been brutal for me! Sitting in the house for an extra 3 hours not talking to people about the gospel has been brutal!😣 It has given me some extra time to study and to ponder and pray which has been cool but still. But something crazy about David is that he is moving to LA in these next few weeks and you guys are going to have to take care of my convert for me! So that's kind of cool if you guys will get to meet him. He is awesome and he will be and awesome member of the church. We love him tons!
We also found another guy this week named Jose Lopez! Which is really confusing because I feel like half the people we know are either named Jose or Josue. haha I can think of 4 off the top of my head. But this guys is awesome! I contacted him and his dad on Tuesday of last week and he came to church with us on Sunday which was awesome! We had a visit with him yesterday and shared the Restoration with him then we challenged him to be baptized, and he accepted! He will be baptized on the 9th of February! Remember to keep these 2 guys in your prayers so that they will be baptized and continue faithfully in the church!
But with all of this extra time on my hands I had the opportunity to learn some cool things I was reading in the Book of Mormon in 3 Nephi 12:14-16 Which says "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I give unto you to be the light of this people. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Behold, do men light a acandle and put it under a bushel? Nay, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light to all that are in the house; Therefore let your alight so shine before this people, that they may see your good works and bglorify your Father who is in heaven."
This is a scripture that I am sure we have all read a million times But it seemed to hit me with greater impact this time than before. The light of this gospel has been revealed to the world again. We have a great blessing to know about this great church and gospel in our lives. We can either let the bushel (or the fear of other people) stop us from sharing the light, or we can decide to fear God more than man and invite all to come unto Christ. I love you guys so much and I promise you that there is power in opening your mouth and sharing the good news. That person may not be baptized but you have planted a seed that could grow and the Lord will bless you for opening your mouth simply because you loved your fellow brothers enough to share the good news.
Family, friends and loved ones. I know that this church is true! Jesus Christ is our Savior and he is at the head of this church! We are living in a critical time of the Restoration and each and everyone of you have a part in it. The Savior is coming! It is our job to prepare ourselves and the rest of our brothers and sisters for his coming.
