Area

Taxisco Guatemala

Companion

Elder Calero

Week 12

Hey Family!
Wow! What a crazy week! So I had my first transfers this week. I already have a new companion and a new area. I’m in a new place called Taxisco and its only about 20 mins from my first area and I’m still in the same zone. My new companion is named Elder Calero and he is from Nicaragua. He is so dope! I’ve only been with him for a day and I can tell that this is going to help my spanish a ton. It already has. He is super easy to understand and he talks very clear. So thats good.

Anyways it’s going to be brutal. Because in our branch we have a max of 16 people attending. And our branch president doesnt even care. Hes like 25 years old. Hes basically inactive too because he works on Sundays. So ya we are pretty desperate around hear but I’m excited to get to work. I have a feeling that Elder Calero and I are going to have a lot of success together. I love this work and thank you guys for all of your support. I love you all!

Love Elder Laing

(Addition details from talking to Brayden!! - from Becca). We love talking with Brayden every Wednesday!! Google Hangouts makes it so nice and comforting to be able to see him and hear him!! The last several weeks we have finally got the technical issues fixed so now we can see him and hear him!! It’s wonderful!!😂.

Brayden's first 2 areas he has been sent to open up new areas!! There is lots of work to do and he’s excited to do it!! He loves his new companion Elder Calero! He’s excited to improve his Spanish! Elder Calero doesn’t speak any English! He was baptized 2 years ago and is the only member in his whole family! Even though they have only been companions for 1 day so far, Brayden said he’s learned so much from him!!

He told us some crazy stories of massive spiders in their appartment. One started crawling up his leg while he was hand wash some of his clothes!

Brayden tells us how much he loves the Guatemalan people!!! He asked for us to pray for his investigators and the members every time we talk to him! He is so excited to teach people about Jesus Christ, the Book of Mormon and that Families can be together forever!! It is incredible to see his testimony growing every week, to see him becoming a man of God at such an incredible pace! I know that our missionaries are protected because they are on the Lord’s errand!!

Here is a picture of of our good friends painted for us of Brayden with Elder Wilde in front of the Guatemala City Temple!! We love it and thought you would too!!🥰🥰

Thank you for remembering Brayden in your prayers!! We really appreciate it!! He sends his love and really looks forward to hearing from you guys!! His email is brayden.laing@missionary.org if you want to write him!!

We love you all!!
Love,
Becca
