Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy.
2 Nephi 2:25

Dear family,

This week feels like it went pretty fast. It seems like they are starting to feel faster and faster as I approach the end. The days still feel long sometimes, but the weeks are fast. We have been pretty busy, so that's good.

We saw Francis everyday this week! It was awesome. He has gone without smoking for 16 days now. We are very proud of him. Pretty soon he will be able to meet with the Bishop and receive the Priesthood and a temple recommend. It's going to be great.

Brother Javis is doing alright. He has been trying to gain guardianship of his 90-year-old grandma, but hasn't been successful. So he is actually heading back to Utah for a few weeks, because he can't afford to say out here (he has been staying in a motel).
He is going to come back in a few weeks if he can. In the meantime, we will probably still go over and teach his grandma while he's gone.

Well, we got transfer calls. I am staying and Elder Schone is leaving. I kinda figured I would stay. So I will finish my mission here. Interestingly enough, Elder Schone is staying in the district. He is switching places with Elder Wade up in Riverview.
So tonight Elder Wade will be my new companion.

As I mentioned before, I roomed with Elder Wade in the MTC, so we will be going home together. Elder Wade is from Heber, Utah. He's a super cool guy, I'm pumped that I get to be companions with him. We are definitely planning on doing our best with the
little bit of time we have left.

This weekend we had stake conference. I really enjoyed it, it was definitely one of the best stake conferences I've ever attended. One talk that I especially liked was about seeking answers to our questions through personal revelation.

The speaker talked about Joseph Smith and his experience. After the First Vision, Joseph told his mother, "I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true" (Joseph Smith-History 1:20). The speaker then talked about how each one of us must "learn
for ourselves" that these things are true.

As I pondered that message, I began to think of everything that I've learned on my mission. I have learned for myself that these things are true. I have learned about God's perfect love for each one of us. I have learned about the truthfulness of this
gospel and this church. I have learned about my wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.

I have mixed feelings about this area. I do not know what, if anything, will happen this transfer; "nevertheless, I know in whom I have trusted" (2 Nephi 4:19). So, here's to one last transfer! Wish me luck! I am going to do my best.

I hope everybody has a great week! I love and miss each one of you!
