Here is a picture from zone conference.
I didn't really get the memo that we were supposed to be smiling...oh well!

Dear family,

This week was pretty good. I'm definitely more adjusted to the area now that I've been here for a couple weeks. At first it was kind of like starting all over, but it's all good now. The ward here is pretty small. I still haven't met everyone, but the
people I have met have been nice, so that's good.

We were blessed with a new investigator this week! Her name is Joy. Joy is a single mother who has been going through some hard times lately. She was mostly curious about what we had to say, so she listened to our message. She was very receptive and willing
to be baptized if she came to know for herself that our message is true. We will hopefully see her again this week.

We are also working with a recent convert named Francis. Francis was baptized about four or five months ago, and he has fallen back into the habit of smoking. We are working with him to help him quit again. After he quits, our goal is to help him progress
towards receiving the Priesthood and attending the temple. I really like Francis, he's super nice.

On Tuesday we had zone conference. It's always nice to get together with other missionaries and be taught by the Clevelands and the assistants. One thing that we were instructed on was our finding approaches. President Cleveland has received specific revelation
on how we should approach people. When talking to people, he has asked us to:

1. Share a restored truth
2. Testify that we know it's true (specifically using the words, "I testify")
3. Share how it has blessed us in our life
4. Promise them blessings
5. Ask if we can come by later today to share more
6. Ask for referrals

At times it can seem kind of rote, but we are already beginning to see blessings come from it. Yesterday when we were finding we talked with a man named Ryan. I shared with him my testimony of the Book of Mormon, applying all six things President asked.
He agreed to let us come by later that evening!

When the time came for us to go see him, we couldn't find his house! We determined that we must have misheard the street name he gave us. We tried finding it on the GPS, but we couldn't figure out which street he meant. With sadness and a little frustration,
we gave up and decided to do more finding.

After finding for about 30 minutes or so, we decided to try finding people in a different area. When we got in the car, Elder Schone received a prompting to try a certain street, in hopes of finding Ryan. We had nothing to lose, so we drove by and knocked
on the house that we hoped would be his. We found him! The spirit led us to him, and we were able to have a great lesson. It was a cool experience to literally be led to somebody who was ready to receive the gospel. Ryan seems like a cool guy, and we will
be seeing him later this week.

This past week, when we've been out finding, I've been thinking a lot about the "voice of warning". Whenever I see someone and debate about whether or not I should talk to them, I remind myself that I need to raise a warning voice. God sent me here "to
testify and warn the people, and it becometh every man who hath been warned to warn his neighbor" (D&C 88:81).

As missionaries, Elder Schone and I are the only ones authorized to preach the gospel in our entire area. Members can and should share the gospel, but the missionaries are the only ones who can teach people and bring them to baptism, under the direction
of the mission president. I feel the weight of that burden! Because of that responsibility, I've been working hard and trying to make the most out of the few weeks I have left. And God is blessing us with miracles every day! It's amazing.

I hope everyone has a good week! I love and miss you all!

P.S. I am having trouble sending pictures, I will figure it out next week.
