#BringOneSoul

Hello everyone!!

This week was pretty alright!

We had District leadership Council on Tuesday and it was legendary. We talked about the zone and how we could implement new goals and plans to increase the performance, faith and joy of the missionaries. Something that elder Lott and myself created, with a little help from previous mission experiences was a pdf for each missionary in the zone that they can plug in daily goals and plans to apply the Book of Mormon, Preach My Gospel and the Missionary Handbook. As the missionaries make that goal, they will see the fruits overtime from small and simple things. Alma 37:39-41. President Oaks talk called "Small and Simple Things" from April 2018 lays it all out. We are all ready to #BringOneSoul

Me and elder Lott were finding and found this cool park with some cool trees. Also Elder Lott is also a professional photographer. This week finding and talking to everyone has been our big push so we can #BringOneSoul ! Something big I've learned on my mission so far is (and it's super obvious) if you want some thing, go and get it. If you want results, put the work in. We've seen many miracles lately from going out and doing.

We also had interviews with President Hughes! He is amazing. He's bold and loving.

Transfer moves came out yesterday and we are losing some pretty amazing missionaries! But oh yeah almost forgot, me and elder Lott are staying! 🤘🏻 this transfer will be 7 weeks. I am pumped for it.

We are bowling right now! Here's a pic of me and Elder Henrie 🍁.

Of course last but not least, general conference was amazing. I'd invite you all to keep listening and studying the talks! 😁

One of my favourites was elder Bednars talk. Also as I listened to the first talk by elder Cook about bringing gospel teaching into the home more and changing the balance, I couldn't help but think of a talk by Matthew Holland in 1983 called "Muddy Feet and White Shirts". Here's a few sections from it:

"I am very grateful to be here tonight to share a few words with you about the influence parents and the family have upon the youth of our Church. I would like to use my own family to illustrate this point. My parents and younger sister and brother show me love and give me support every day of my life. They care for my needs, both temporal and spiritual. These things are very important to me, and my family does them better than anyone else could, including the other organizations within the Church.
I love the Church’s programs very much. But there seems to be an idea among many Latter-day Saints that the Church has the responsibility for spiritually raising the youth. Parents who hold this belief are robbing their children of one of the richest experiences we can have here in mortality.
The Primary, Sunday School, and seminary have taught us all lessons we will never forget. The Aaronic Priesthood and Young Men’s programs have helped us honor our priesthood more fully. The Young Women’s programs have taught spiritual, social, and domestic skills which are very important. The Melchizedek Priesthood and Relief Society programs keep the older, more rebellious generation in line. But these programs will not be successful unless the same lessons are being taught in the home....
So, fathers, I plead with you not to think that the only important priesthood or spiritual lessons are taught by Church programs. Make your homes like heaven. Let them be a place where sons and daughters can learn, grow, ask, and express themselves free of criticism and to an open ear and heart.
Elder Marvin J. Ashton said, “Home should be an anchor, a port in a storm, a refuge, a happy place in which to dwell. … Home should be where life’s greatest lessons are taught and learned. Home can be the center of one’s earthly faith where love and mutual responsibility are appropriately blended.” (Marvin J. Ashton, Ye Are My Friends, Salt Lake City: Deseret Book, 1982, p. 44.)

I love that talk which elder Holland follows by giving a talk. Go and check it out!

It's amazing the patterns we see in the church! It means it's important!

I love you all!
