Hello Everybody!!!!!
Goodness this week was AMAZING. We are starting to see miracles on miracles!!! My aunt Bonnie told me before my mission that I had to be sure not to lose who I was in the mission. Alot of missionaries go out thinking they have to conform to this one type of missionary that is exactly the same as all the rest of the really good missionaries! But NO!!!! The best kinds of missionaries (and people) are the ones that keep who they are. They have their personality and they´re way of working but at the same time are truly obedient to the Lord.
For Instance....
When I was little I loved to go do what I thought was ¨parkour¨ (or in my 12 year old mind I was basically rolling around everywhere like a rollie polie thinking I was some jackie chan super star)... But because I had spent so long doing stuff like that I got really good at handstands!!! So all of this week Ive been having handstand competitions with little kids in the streets and now every time I see these huge groups of little kids playing soccer or just being little punks sitting in the street they all stop what they´re doing and run up to us and start saying their little english phrases that we taught them. Its seriously the greatest....
Example B) CINNAMON ROLLS. Mason and I always taught mother that we can #tastethelove before anything else.... So being a good mother as she is she taught us to make cinnamon rolls and thats exactly what we did!!! I could taste the love from 6000 miles away.. But we brought the cinnamon rolls to our investigators and members of the ward and it has made SUCH a big difference in all that we do here. We are getting references all over the place from members and investigators are just popping out of the woodwork like nothing else!!! Seriously it makes such a big difference to just be who you are in every aspect of the work!!
In Mathew when Christ gives the parable of the talents, He´s not just talking about money. Especially in the instance of developing our own talents. Jacob gives us the seceret to becoming rich, but I would tell you that the key to developing our own talents is the same principle: SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD¨. That is what he wants us to do and if we come to him and use our talents with the end to bless others He will bless us all the more because of it!!!
Thank you so much for all of your letters and prayers, I could really feel them this week
Love,Elder Burk (The Younger)
