Week 59 - The Work Goes On
Cześć!
This past week has been, by far, one of the best of my mission. We had so many fun activities and things to do, which was great! Well, without further ado, let's jump right in.
Last P-Day was really good. It was Elder Kellmer's Grandpa's birthday, so we celebrated with him and got Pizza and Ice cream which was really fun. I always enjoy it when his grandparents come to visit. Later that day for our working hours, we were able to help a man named Dariusz, that we are teaching, with painting his friend's apartment. He was so grateful for our help, that he even bought us Mcdonalds. :) That was the perfect way to end our P-Day.
Tuesday was fairly normal. We did our usual weekly planning session and some time to do facebook which was good. However, Wednesday was completely different. We had another chance to go over and help Dariusz finish up with some painting stuff. It is always nice to get out and serve, because it makes you feel so good. The blessings you receive while serving far outweighs the effort and time you give in serving.
We were able to watch the Face to Face with Elder Rasband and his wife on Thursday which was really nice. If you all haven't watched it (especially those of you who are Youth and Young Adults) I would encourage you all to watch it. It was a really good devotional, they had great insights, videos, and music. If you want to feel the Spirit a little bit more, then watch it. :) However, even with how good the Devotional was, it still couldn't top what happened next. We had a meeting with this member named Mykola and his non-member wife Julita. After talking about Baptism for a while, we ended up committing her to be baptized on October 10th! We are so happy and excited for her, and to make it even better, her husband Mykola will be the one baptizing her! The work is hastening! This will be Elder Kellmer's and my first baptism of a person that we have actually taught! Needless to say we are way excited and pumped!
The next day was nearly as good as the last. The highlight of the day was probably a branch activity we had later in the day. We went to a member's home and had a small little branch get together. We all brought a few treats to share and we just sat around and visited. It was really relaxing and was great to see all the members in a non church environment. Other than all that, I think that's about it for this week. However, like always, here's my little thought...
This past week I was reading a talk given by President Nelson in the April 2019 General Conference, and there was one thing he mentioned that really stood out to me. He said, "We all need to repent. We need to get up off the couch, put down the remote, and wake up from our spiritual slumber. It is time to put on the full armor of God so we can engage in the most important work on earth. It is time to "thrust in [our] sickles, and reap with all [our] might, mind, and strength." The forces of evil have never raged more forcefully than they do today. As servants of the Lord, we cannot be asleep while this battle rages. Your family needs your leadership and love. Your quorum and those in your ward or branch need you strength. And all who meet you need to know what a true disciple of the Lord looks like and acts like."
I challenge you all to do as President Nelson directs, and show all those who meet you what a true disciple of Jesus Christ looks like and acts like. Be as he is, do as he does, and I promise you immense blessings will follow. I love you all so much, keep up the good work!
