Third Times the Charm

What a wild week it has been. Because of the reassignment missionaries all coming in transfers have been every two weeks and lots of shifting has been happening. I am now in my third are and got here last Wednesday! I was super shocked at first and was even pretty sad because my companions were so awesome and I was just getting settled is. But being comfortable doesn't excite the growth sometimes that Heavenly Father wants us to receive. After much prayer I was comforted knowing the new area I am now in is where the Lord needs me!

I am about 40 minutes outside of Albuquerque in an area called Belen (its means Bethlehem in Spanish) its a small town but the members here are wonderful. My new companion Elder Durling and I have been so graciously welcomed here by all the members which is a huge blessing! This week has been lots of phone calls and getting settled in but its been good! There has been a lot of emphasis on patience in my studies lately and a scripture in the Book of Mormon has brought me so much peace and comfort. It is in Alma 26:27 and says:
"Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success."

At times we have depressed hearts, we want to give up and turn back whether literally or metaphorically turn back to old ways or habits. We can press forward and overcome these feelings through patience and be comforted in the Lord and our struggles will pass as we stay the course and remember Gods hand is stretched out still no matter what we have done. I am greatful for the Book of Mormon and the peace and comfort it brings. I invite you all to read it!
