Ixhuatan, Oaxaca Mexico

Elder Kitiona

This has been quite the crazy week with some traveling and fun encounters!! We had a zone conference and then had to go to a different area for a day because Elder Kitiona had to do some baptismal interviews. But it´s still been a great week with tons of cool experiences talking with the great people of Ixhuatan.

This week while we were teaching this Hermana named Melina she looked at me and told me during the lesson that I didn´t smile that much. I was kind of taken back by it because I hadn´t realized that during the lesson I had neglected to smile being too preoccupied with trying to understand what she was saying. As a missionary we are here sharing the JOY of the gospel, and what better way to share that joy than smiling. After that lesson I made it a goal of mine to smile, when teaching but all the time. It was a learning experience for sure hearing that from Melina but it was exactly what I needed. Smiling is a physical manifestation of our happiness. Just choosing to smile this week and be happy really changed my mood helping me feel more joy. When you look someone in the eye and just wish them a good day or "Buenos Dias 9 times out of 10 they will smile back! This is a message of love and joy! It is so much fun being out here sharing a message of Joy!

We had the baptisms for José Francisco and Kevin this week! They are two awesome young men with great faith. We got to baptize and it was beautiful!!

¡Les Amo Mucho! I would love to hear from you all!
