Week 5 Ely

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is healthy and happy!

These past couple of weeks have been really good! The core of my weeks haven't really changed much haha. My days are still made up of scripture study, service, lessons, and Facebook.
I finished the Book of Mormon on Sunday and that was amazing! The feelings of overwhelming peace and the guidance I receive from reading it is something I can't get from anywhere else. Time to start reading it from the beginning again haha.
This week we had a lot of service opportunities! We helped a lady trim her trees which was nice. She was praying that we would call and offer to help her and it was really nice to hear that. We helped another lady pick apricots from her apricot tree and that was fun! She let us take some home and they were so good! We also helped a family in a city called Lund. They recently had a big fire and so their property was a bit of a mess. It was really fun to help him and he was so appreciative.
I gave another talk on Sunday in the McGill ward this time and that was great! It was a little different than usual because I was speaking to maybe 15-20 people hahaha. The nerves that come with giving a talk just went right away when I saw how many people were there hahaha. It was an awesome opportunity though. We have transfers this week but my companion and I are staying together here. That's okay with me because I love my area and my companion and I get a long well. Ely will continue to
be my home for a little bit longer hahaha.
I just wanted to share something real quick that I read in the Book of Mormon this week. In Ether 12:27 it says,
27 And if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith
in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them.
I love this scripture because we all have weaknesses and things we struggle with. If we humble ourselves and turn to the Lord for help, he will help us with what we struggle with. The important part is we have to make the effort to improve and that's when we will be helped. Acting on our faith is necessary for this to happen. The Lord is waiting to help us we just need to put in effort!

I hope you all have a great week and I love you all so much! Tchau!
