Ely NV

Elder Clifton

Hey everyone! Wow has it been a while. I just finished my first week back out on my mission. For anyone that doesn't know where I got reassigned I am now serving in the Reno, Nevada mission. Right now I am in a city called Ely. Even though I
am in a state side mission it is still very different from home. Ely is in the middle of nowhere so it's a very quiet town. The way it looks and feels here is how I imagine living in the post-snap world from Endgame would be like hahaha. All jokes aside I
do like it here because all of the chaos going on in the world doesn't seem to exist here. This place is starting to grow on me.
My new companion is Elder Clifton and he is from Utah. He is always happy and doing the right things so he is a great example to me. We are getting along very well so I hope that continues.
I am actually really enjoying the quarantine life as a missionary right now. Although it gets repetitive and a little boring at times, it is awesome. It allows us to still contact and teach people but really grow as a person at the same time.
We get lots of personal study time, we still contact people over the phone, I get to work out twice a day, and I have time to practice Portuguese still. I think that is pretty nice. We got a new Mission President on Sunday and meeting him and his wife was
really nice. It is crazy to think that I have had more Mission Presidents (3) than months served on my mission so far. Another crazy things is that I am riding a bike every day too hahaha. We have a 2019 Tacoma that we drive but for fun my companion likes
to go on bike rides so well, I am a biker now. I haven't fallen yet so I don't mind it right now but I will let you guys know the day I fall because it will happen hahaha.
To end this email I would like to share something that my companion and I have taught recently. The scripture is from The Book of Mormon in Alma 37:6-7.

6- Now ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise.
7- And the Lord God doth work by means to bring about his great and eternal purposes; and by very small means the Lord doth confound the wise and bringeth about the salvation of many souls.

Doing the small and simple things in your lives truly do go a long way. You may not think that they do much but the Lord notices the efforts you are making and he will bless you for them. I invite you to do or continue to do the small and simple
things in your lives and I promise you will be blessed. I hope you all have a good week and I will talk to you guys soon. Tchau!
