This week.
A couple things that made my week. We had to drive out to Inhamizua, not a super long drive but maybe like 20 minutes on the freeway outside of the city of Beira to get our car inspection done for the year. And while we were out there we passed by the new Inhamizua chapel, a new and beautiful chapel in the green of Manga. It was so green out there, reminded me of Marromeu. And because we were out of the city, the people spoke sena, as opposed to ndau that is spoken here in the city. It was fun to mess with the kids in a dialect that I could actually joke in. Thanks Marromeu. so good trip.
This week was wet. Our area is flooded. We wear boots but the water is so high that boots don't help. Walking to do visits and baptismal interviews with water up to our waste at night, hahaha its so crazy. I just wish I could take pictures of it but when I was going to, my camera died so.. woohoo. The streets are rivers, and the rivers are oceans. People fishing in the street, it's great.
Story time... as aforementioned, My pants got soaked from walking in the water, so the next day, baptism day, I dress myself with some old pants, shrunken, and a little small, but tudo bem. Well not tudo bem, because that day, in the most inopportune moment, my pants exploded. The story: I was in the chapel hallway and I bent down, more like a squat thing, and lets just say, my pants followed the example of the red sea.. splitting and divided in half...funniest part? The sisters were all there to witness it. But on the bright side, whenever anybody has asked me about my most embarrassing moment, I usually hesitate in trying to recall any embarrassing moment I've had. I just haven't had a story. Hesitate no more Elder Cox. You have your story. I just kinda laughed it off, it was more funny to me than embarrassing. The witnesses didn't see too much, I think. so I put some baptismal pants over my pants, which explains why in one picture I'm in white pants.
This saturday! Our couple was baptized. It was so cool to see them, after the long legal process of marriage, get baptized! They were super happy and so were we. Good way to end January. Here comes february!
We ran into Bispo gil, a bishop of a ward in the city who I absolutely love. He was with the priesthood holders after a meeting and they were all sitting on these rocks eating badjia and drinking frozy so we stopped and talked to them, and I got a cool pic out of it, and some badjia!! WOOT WOOT. so that's that picture.
