Elder Doud

Elder Marr has died of dysentery 😀

It's been a long week, mostly because Elder Doud and I got Dysentery on Wednesday. that meant we spent most of the week super sick. On Thursday, while I still had dysentery, I had to fly back to Jakarta to get my Kitas finished, since the immigration office only just opened. Unfortunately, because of Lebaran, travel is basically impossible. In order to fly to Jakarta, the APs had to book me a flight out of Jogja, with the intention of me riding a train to Jogja from Solo. When Elder Doud and I checked the train station, it turned out there wasn't a single seat on any trains until July, which meant instead I had to take a taxi from Solo to the Jogja airport (a 2 hour drive), in order to catch my flight. When I got to the airport, my flight got delayed from 12:10 at night to 1:30, meaning that I didn't actually arrive at the mission home is Senopati until 3:00 in the morning. the next morning we had to get up and get to the Immigration office at about 9. After that, I flew back to Solo, although that flight was also delayed, so I didn't get home until about 9;30 at night. It was a very long day, especially since I had a fever and a headache most of the day. As one plus side of my sickness, I've lost about 30 pounds on my mission.

Outside of that, this week has been pretty uneventful, since most of the week was spent at home. We have one investigator who has a fantastic testimony, but just isn't willing to stop smoking, which is really hard to see. We're trying to figure out how to help him realize that through our Savior, he can quit, but it's really hard. I've been reading a lot about faith in my personal study, and have really come to know that through Heavenly Father, all things are possible.

Dengan Kasih,

Elder Marr
